What's the story with the poems?  I started to write in my junior year in high school, but my output has waned the last several years. There are many hundreds of poems, of which maybe two dozen have been published in various literary journals.

Why these poems? The poems below have all been published one place or another. They're from different eras of my life, especially grad school through the mid-90s.  I chose these few because they're -- well, let's say "strange," offbeat.

What tools were used to compose? They were all originally written with a fountain pen -- either a Mont Blanc, Pelikan, or Parker, and usually with a gold nib, all with blue-black ink. After many drafts and revisions, they were typed on a Hermes 3000 manual portable typewriter. Later I typed them into my various computers: a Macintosh Plus in the mid 1980s, later a Mac IIsi in Germany, then a PowerBook 520c, and finally transferred them to my Windows PC.
