Yes, you could write with a
Bic, or even a Pentel rollerball. But you'd be missing out on one of the most sensual,
traditional, and satisfying ways to put words to paper. If you have a fountain pen, grab
it and start writing. There's nothing that comes close.


Starting with
a Mont Blanc 32 bought in Germany in 1973, I've slowly built up my collection. From there,
there was no going back: several more Mont Blancs, Parkers -- including the famous Model
51, considered the best pen ever mass-produced -- Scheaffer, Waterman, Pelikan, and Lamy.
