I've long thought the only reason the Web exists is to engorge already inflated techno-egos. At least, that's why personal Web sites exist. This is mine, and it's full of that fabulous engorgement. These are some of my passions and hobbies, ranging from the dilettantish hobbyist to the professional expert. Watches It started with the old Wittnauer watch my dad gave me when I was in grade school. Here's to the precision and appreciation of mechanical and battery-free watches. Words Poetry, fine essays, literary and cultural criticism, good novels. It's all about the import of the single, coruscating word. Pens "Pens" means "fountain pens," and I don't want to hear from the uninformed Bic, Pentel, and Pilot users. I'm talking Mont Blanc, Parker, Pelikan, Waterman, Scheaffer. Typewriters You're a computer buff and disdain the antiquarian ways of old-fashioned typewriter users? Well, hotshot, we're here to tell you that typewriters will never die. Poetry Poets are the messengers of the gods, suffer a sensibility akin to madness, and are afflicted with the weight of the cerebrated and celebrated Word. Here's to their affliction. Airguns These are modern works of art, the most accurate shooting machines ever created by technological man, period. Check out this most strenuously precise of Olympic sports and relaxing backyard plinking pastime. Geocaching Hi-tech treasure-hunting using a GPS device! I never thought anything would get me to get off of my tuckus and hike into the woods, but this is just too fun.
